Guidelines For Proper Attire For Graduates
- GOWN: Remove the graduation gown from its individual package as soon as possible to allow wrinkles to fall. Please avoid using an iron on the gown as it will damage it and we do not have any extras to replace it with.
- Gowns must be zipped fully for Graduation.
- CAPS: Place the cap on the head so that the mortarboard is level. The front of the cap is indicated on the inside of the crown. Caps are never worn on the back of the head. For graduation, caps should be worn parallel to the ground with the point in the center of the forehead. Caps can be affixed with bobby pins. Tassels should be positioned on the right.
- STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DECORATE THEIR CAPS. Any decorated caps will be confiscated and students will need to pay $10 (cash only) for a replacement cap in order to walk at Graduation.
- If a student loses their tassel, it costs $5 (cash only) for a replacement. Replacement tassels are first come, first serve and can be purchased from Mrs. Thompson at Graduation Practice or while lining up for Graduation.
- ATTIRE: All graduating students attending the graduation ceremony must dress in professional attire. Professional attire includes: dresses, skirts, blouses, dress pants, and dress shirts.
- SHOES: Students are NOT allowed to wear high heels, platforms or wedges of any kind/height due to the field turf. If a student shows up to graduation wearing any shoes listed above, they will have to change shoes in order to participate in the graduation ceremony. Please reference the Shoe Guide that was included in your Senior Packet.
- The only extras that may be worn with your cap and gown are honor stoles, medals and cords presented by the school.
- You may wear sunglasses. No phones or purses.
